Course Overview

Our degree preparation programmes are designed to help students to develop the English language, academic study skills, and subject-specific knowledge required for degree-level study.

The International Year One in Business and Management is designed to enable progression onto a number of named Bachelor's programmes within Lincoln International Business School. Students study academic modules in data analytics, the business environment, marketing, finance, and organisational behaviour; alongside English Language.

Degree Programme Progression

After successfully completing the International Year One programme and obtaining the required grade, students will have the option to progress onto the second year of one of the following degree programmes at the 情色六月天:

How You Study

You will commence your studies alongside other year one students within Lincoln International Business School, studying academic modules related to the programme you will be progressing to. You will also receive separate English language and study skills provision and support from the International College, helping you build your confidence in studying in English.

You will have the support of a personal tutor within Lincoln International Business School in addition to the support you receive from the International College. Your tutor and other academic staff will encourage you to engage with extra activities arranged by the Students' Union and the University.

Business Environment (Micro) 2024-25ECO1032Level 42024-25This module explores a range of economic concepts and basic analytical techniques. The focus of the module is the Financial Times (FT). The FT covers issues relating to operations management, accounting, HRM, economics, and finance, all of which are relevant to a business degree. Students are encouraged to keep abreast of current events in the commercial environment, which can help when competing for placements and employment opportunities in the commercial world.CoreData Analytics for Business 2024-25ECO1031Level 42024-25This module develops some quantitative techniques that underpin research and business analysis. It promotes a critical awareness and understanding of some of the processes, techniques, and technology by which numerical information can be collected and analysed. Too often, organisations are presented as neat, predictable, and unproblematic. The purpose of this module is to broaden horizons by exploring how approaches to managing shift as new theories emerge and organisation practices adapt to address emerging concerns. Students on this module will recognise underlying assumptions of knowledge and understand that knowledge is not fixed but part of an ongoing discussion. Students will have the ability to evaluate sources of knowledge and how it relates to contemporary business practice. Through this module, students will also learn introductory skills of inquiry, searching, and selecting literature, and confidence in discussing and presenting new topics. The module shows how sustainable market success can be achieved through business environment analysis and customer-centred product/services development. The module will examine the customer journey and stakeholder engagement to evaluate the impact of marketing activities on consumers, the environment, and society. Students will also benefit from gaining insights on the latest marketing thinking, trends, and techniques; learning from experienced marketing practitioners and developing creative mindset, cognitive flexibility, social and emotional intelligence to manage the plethora of opportunities and challenges that will help them to success in future world of work.Core

How you are assessed

Pre-sessional English Language Preparation

Our Pre-sessional English Language Preparation (PELP) course is a great way for students who do not meet our English language entry requirements to raise their overall English proficiency. These programmes are designed for students who want to progress to an International Year One programme. They will increase understanding of academic study, whilst helping to develop a wide range of essential English language skills.

Fees and Scholarships

Students on this course may be eligible for a range of scholarships and bursaries once they successfully progress on to their chosen full degree programme.
